It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on achieving 10 years of continuous service with our organisation.
Under our policy on Long Service Awards, you are eligible for an award of £100, just a small token to thank you for all the effort and commitment you give to our organisation. You will receive your award in the July salary payment.

Just think! If you keep amassing awards over the years, you'll be able to afford to retire when you are 7000 years old!
Have you already rung the framers to get the letter suitably mounted? Perhaps for display in the smallest room in the house.
Lucky old you...I had to wait until 25 years, and the award was a similar £10 per year of service, which had to be spent on some sort of recognisable gift (to be fair, we had a fair degree of latitude... I spent a happy £250 on loads of CDs (new and second-hand) from a very good local shop and all was very happy...
We repeat it at five year increments from now on they said...great...
By the time I had 30 years under the belt it was still £10 per year of service, but the money was credited against an approved catalogue only...after 30 years of watching a bloody clock why should I want to buy myself the bastard thing?...Eventually I settled on some gardening tools and a bottle of bubbly (don't know why because I loathe gardening and the bubbly was pretty useless anyway"...
Now I'm halfway to the next one the buggers have turned round and said that because people tend not to stay long with an employer any more they're going to start long service awards provisionally at ten years, but with a viw to reducing that to five "if necessary"...
Without wishing to appear ungrateful in any way, why do I now start to feel suddenly undervalued?
Betty - I am so excited! I am fantasising about what I shall spend my award monies on when retirement comes! I am thinking maybe a packet of Happy Shopper Digestive Style Biscuits and a can of Irn Bru.
Boz - I am going to hang it on the toilet roll dispenser.
Cogidubnus - I am lucky. At least I am free to spend my £100 on whatever I choose. I can totally see why you feel undervalued.
