The wind has not yet dropped, nor satiated its hunger for destruction. I don't know if our marquees will ever be the same again. On the plus side they are not in the moat. On the negative side I have to fit several festive trade stalls in there for the weekend. And the forecast is for more wind.

You're not in Kensal Green are you?!
Could the wind have anything to do with the "mystery sandwich selection"?
I can see the similarities, but no. Fortunately I only have to contend with trees and tents, as opposed to wheelie bins and bits of garden fence.
The mystery sandwich selection, potent though it was, could not muster enough wind to demolish two marquees. A gazebo at best.
....so now you're Doris One Tent Sparrow?
It appears so. Doris One Tent, No Gazebo, Less an Oak Tree, Sparrow.
...better than being too tents. Might I suggest you put the sandwiches at the front, collapsed ends, build up with things like quiche and cake as you head back and then put the tea urns and Christmas trees at the far end. Top the day off with a "limbo-out-of-the-marquee competition?
Is there not somewhere more stable to hold the festive market thing? Like, hmmm, a big stately home? I don't want people losing loved ones so close to Christmas.
Thanks, Anonymous, for those top suggestions! However, we had the marquees officially assessed today and the verdict is that they are "fucked".
You, and Gareth, should therefore be pleased to know we have relocated the stalls into the house and outbuildings. What fun.
V glad that I, as an Alternative Tradeyperson, am not doing anything involving tents or indeed, Outside, for a while. All indoor markets for winter, thankyouverymuch...
That is sad news, Doris - Marquee de Sad news. Life is like a pubic hair on a toilet seat - sometimes, you get pissed off. Cheer up.
Thanks for those wise words, Fruity. I feel positively perky now.
